What Can We Do About This?

These photos were taken during XUHS Batch 96's Feeding Program - Soup Kitchen "Merienda Mo, Merienda Ko". November 21, 2009 at Landfill, Upper Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.

Will I have a future in this Landfill?

Enjoying this meal, while we still can.

Landfill area

Is there still hope for us?

A luscious meal for today.

Will we have more of these?

Working endlessly in this garbage pit.

Mother: "You should have this more than I."

Hoping for my future.

Enjoying every last drop.

Still wishing for peace.

Please help us.

Aside from taking care of our Environment, we should also consider these children's hopes and dreams for their future...

An Inconvenient Truth for Mankind

An Inconvenient Truth Indeed…

Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb. If the vast majority of the world's scientists are right, we have just ten years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods, droughts, epidemics and killer heat waves beyond anything we have ever experienced.

If that sounds like a recipe for serious gloom and doom -- think again.

You have the power to make a difference. Small changes to your daily routine can add up to big changes in helping to stop global warming.

*Reduce your impact AT HOME
*Reduce your impact WHILE ON THE MOVE
*Help bring about change LOCALLY, NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY

After reducing your emissions you can do even more by going "carbon neutral." By supporting clean renewable energy, you can effectively neutralize your personal CO2 emissions. Your small investment will ensure that for every ton of carbon dioxide you are emitting, a ton of carbon dioxide will not be released into the atmosphere. Go NEUTRAL!

Watch "An Inconvenient Truth 2006". Then you will understand what I'm talking about…

An Inconvenient Truth is a 2006 documentary film, directed by Davis Guggenheim, it is about former United States Vice President Al Gore's campaign to educate citizens all over the world about Global Warming specifically Climate Change.

The After Effects

ENOUGH! Haven't we had enough? I've seen enough.

This is what happened in Cagayan de Oro City last January 2009. These are just some parts of the city. A lot of families lost their homes, loved ones, and their will to survive. Some lost everything.

This is a call for us to change our old ways, to take care of Mother Nature. Are we going to wait for something much worse to happen? Look at the pictures again, do you want these to happen to you or to your loved ones?

It's time to act now, take part, and do action. We don't own this planet, we are just the custodians. Worse comes to worst, we are responsible for our own actions.

Hope our current discretions won't turn into regrets and grief in the future.

Roles and Contributions of the Forest

Big and Stern Giant Bamboos

I was amazed and fascinated by these Giant Bamboos along with other Mother trees located at Impalutao Man-Made Forest in Dalwangan Bukidnon that has been here since 1937. Imagine how big, tall and stunning they have grown since it's been untouched and preserved.

All these plants and trees, the Flora and Fauna, has a very huge role and contribution in our Eco System most specially in the air we breathe and the water that we drink.

Visualize this, a life without natural air to breathe and water to drink. If there's bottled water, would we wait for a bottled oxygen?
